As a teacher and administrator, I understand the transformative impact of data-driven instruction on student success. When I lead faculty meetings or through my role as an adjunct professor, I remind teachers to unlock the full potential of their data. Data helps teachers include differentiation, flexible grouping, technology, and high-order thinking questions into their lesson activities.

Additionally, following a routine of checking for understanding and using that data to inform what should be reviewed or taught the next day can be extremely helpful during parent conferences. Instead of speaking in generalities, teachers are able to show how conscientious they are. That kind of professionalism is what parents expect. Harnessing the power of data to inform teaching practices not only enhances student learning outcomes but also empowers educators to make informed decisions tailored to their students' needs.
